Ashley Walters’ feature directorial debut, Animol is a powerful and intimate coming of age drama set within a young offenders institution. Exploring masculinity, vulnerability, friendship and survival, the film offers a raw and deeply human portrait of life behind bars.

Beautifully shot by cinematographer Tasha Back and featuring an extraordinary cast of young actors, the film premiered at Berlinale before screening at the BFI London Film Festival.
