The Incomer is a 2026 British comedy-drama written and directed by Louis Paxton in his feature directorial debut. Starring Domhnall Gleeson, Gayle Rankin, Grant O’Rourke, Emun Elliott, Michelle Gomez and John Hannah.

Set on a remote Scottish island, the film follows siblings Isla and Sandy, whose isolated way of life is disrupted by the arrival of Daniel, an awkward council worker sent from the mainland to relocate them.

The film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the NEXT Innovator Award, before opening the 79th Edinburgh International Film Festival in August 2026.
